I've been seeing a lot of debates and fights about the fact that Syrian refugees are going to be immigrating to Canada. I just have a question for those who are saying the Syrians shouldn't be allowed to come: If you want to block them from immigrating, what right do you yourself have in being here? Are you not a child of immigrants? With that logic, the only ones who have a 'right' to be here are full blooded Natives. Our ancestors had the opportunity to come here and make a new life. A lot of them had nothing where they came from. Canada was an opportunity to make something of themselves. Shouldn't we give the same opportunity to others?

"We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things."
